About Bersin by Deloitte
Bersin by Deloitte is a subscription based service that delivers research and strategies to the HR professional
User surveys indicate that many members struggle to find new or relevant research, leading to reduced forum participation and an increase in canceled memberships.
Design an activity feed to continually present users with fresh content, enabling them to discover new material efficiently.
We designed a customizable home page feed tailored to individual user preferences, and enhanced it with filtering and sorting capabilities for a more personalized experience.
In the initial three months following the changes, we observed a 22% increase in forum participation, signifying a positive effect on overall user engagement.

Some customers aren't revisiting the site due to their inability to distinguish between new and old research or pinpoint research tailored to their interests. Consequently, this leads to decreased engagement on the site, particularly in the forums, and an increase in membership cancellations.
I reached out to a research team here at the bank to see if they had conducted any research. These are the key takeaways
Increased user engagement: Activity feeds provide fresh and relevant content, enticing users to spend more time on the platform and interact more frequently.
Real-time updates: Users are kept informed about the latest happenings, changes, or content, ensuring that they don't miss out on anything crucial.
Personalization: Activity feeds can be tailored based on user preferences or behaviors, delivering a more personalized experience.
Enhanced user retention: By constantly providing users with relevant updates, there's a higher likelihood they'll return to the platform.
Boosts productivity: In work-related platforms like project management tools, an activity feed helps team members stay updated on project changes, task completions, and other relevant activities.
Transparency: Activity feeds can provide a clear and transparent record of changes, especially useful in collaborative environments.
Ease of access: Instead of navigating through multiple pages or sections, users can get a snapshot of recent activities in one centralized location.
Monetization opportunities: Some platforms use activity feeds to display ads or promoted content, offering a potential revenue stream.
Enhanced user experience: A well-designed activity feed can improve the overall user experience by providing a streamlined way to access and consume information.
